Does your child use the soothers? If the answer is yes, then you may need to face the bitter reality of the latest findings in medicine.
Children who actually use soothers are actually having three times difficulty to speak when they grow up. It is also suggested that pre-school children who stick to soothers at least three years during the infancy are more likely to have difficulty conversing than children the children who don’t use the soothers at all.
Studies have been conducted by the American and Chilean to understand the effects of habits like thumb sucking, pacifier (soother) used and breastfeeding the baby for comforting purposes
to children aged between three to five years. A sample of 128 children has been studied. They also use linguistic tests to identify the level of normal development of speaking ability among children, especially those involving the reference letters and sounds.
Excessive use of baby soothers, incorrectly or too long until beyond school age can lead to mouth and teeth problems. Symptoms are including the front teeth to be pushed outwards causing the top and lower teeth to be mismatched when the mouth is closed. This is known as prognatism. Prognatism is a condition where where an individual's top teeth do not align with the lower teeth.
On the other hand, tooth decay can also occur if the soother is dipped in sweet substance before given to the child. However, the decay is limited to the front teeth as this is where the sweet substances first come into contact before the sweet substances diluted by saliva or sucked by the baby. One may think that the act of dipping the soothers in sweet substance does not have a serious impact on the baby’s teeth if it is done rarely, it is understood. However, if the act is prolonged over a certain period of time, then there will be serious tooth decay on the front line.
Then, there is a situation where the children will tend to breath through the mouth than the nose. This situation can cause problems children saliva to drip over a prolonged time. For this effect, I don’t really see the connection but the only logic behind it probably the children got used to the mouth exertion that the tend to even breath using the mouth.
Lastly, the children may experience some speech and language problems. It could either be the inability of the child to make full use of tongue movement required to produce or having trouble to create the sound to communicate. However, in most cases, the children eventually would pick up with the speech and sounds they desired though at a lower speed than the other children of the same age.

Slipped Disc : Causes and Prevention
I met a good friend of mine a couple of weeks ago. He looked as healthy as before since I last met him. It was until half an hour talk that I was told he was having a problem with his back posture. It all started with a lower back pain and sometimes sudden sharp stinging sensation across the waist. He then consulted a doctor and eventually diagnosed with the slipped disc. I am quite sure I have read it or heard it somewhere but can’t really recall what slipped disc is all about. Ironically, this friend of mine was quite a sportsman back in the 80’s. I never thought that this slipped disc could ever happen to him since he has a well built athletic type body.
By definition, the slipped disc is not actually slipped but is ruptured, injured or split which cause the jelly like substance to escape. This would then cause a pressure to be exerted on the spinal cord or single nerve ends which ultimately causes pain in the surrounding area.
If you work as a store-keeper or material handler, chances are you will be involved in a lot of physical activities in your daily routines. If you lack the knowledge of the proper handling, then you might be lifting more than 10kilograms of weight by standing upright without any support. If you do that, your body is prone to the slipped disc condition. It is therefore good to know a safer approach for the lifting and other physical activities in order to limit the constraint on the back.
Always utilize your leg as opposed to your back when doing the lifting. This is to avoid exerting the weight to your back thus avoiding the spinal cord to be ruptured or injured. When I say utilize your leg, you should lower your body to the ground when lifting any objects from the ground. If you do this correctly, you should notice that you would feel the weight working against your leg and not your back. A good rule of thumbs is never lifts any weight of more than 10kilograms when standing upright.
If your work requires you to do a lot of manual loading and unloading heavy equipments, then it is best that you use the spine brace. Although using the spine brace, the proper lifting technique must be observed or else the spice brace serves no purpose at all. At any time, the correct method of using the spine brace must also be observed to maximize the effectiveness of the support towards the back posture.

Slipped Disc : The Common Symptoms
You might not realize when the slipped disc may occur. However, there are quite a few signs that can indicate a person is having a slipped disc problem. Though the signs might related to the severity of the problem, the symptoms still more or less remain the same and stem out from the pinched or presses nerve ends.
The first sign to look for is the numbness or tingling sensation around the lower back, neck, shoulder and sometimes escalated to the hands and fingers. It may start with a sharp stinging sensation across the affected area and later the numbness starts to appear. In a more severe case, the person might even have the numbness on the buttock and feet. The guideline to remember about the numbness is that most of the cases of the numbness is involving with the nerve ends and slipped disc is one of those problems.
Another symptom to look out for is the pain originating from the lower back until the feet. This symptom usually called sciatica. The pain can be a constant pain around the area or come and go. Usually if the movement exerts more pressure on the affected area, chances are the pain will be more as compared if the person is relaxing. This includes walking, straining, bending, coughing and sneezing.
While not all the slipped disc patients may encounter this problem, some of them do record a problem of controlling the bowel movement. This resulted in unexpected urination sometimes bed-wetting.
